Certified Health Coach Program
Health coaches are specialists in behaviour change. Trained to guide, motivate and empower clients to achieve their health goals, they provide support and accountability to make sustainable changes for healthier lives. Health coaches support their clients to change habits and create new positive behaviours to optimise health and prevent the progression of lifestyle based conditions such as obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Health coaching encourages the individual to establish goals by focusing on self-management and internal motivation. Health coaches contribute to successful outcomes in number of ways, including:
Partnering with clients to identify health goals
Collaborating with and supporting healthcare providers in helping clients improve their health and well-being
Facilitating the process of lifestyle change to prevent or ameliorate lifestyle-related diseases and optimize whole health and well-being
Exploring and providing information, resources, and referrals to providers when appropriate
Supporting client self-empowerment and activating clients to direct own path of healing
Guiding client on health processes and practices of the medical organization.
In addition to the support they provide, health coaches work with all other health professionals in a team based approach to help clients achieve their best outcome. With a solid understanding of other health disciplines, health coaches refer to other health professionals for specialised advice outside of their scope of practice.
The Certified Health Coach programme will provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to make a difference and transform the future of health.

Who is it for?
The CHC Program is an entry level qualification for health-focused, passionate individuals who are interested in entering the health industry. It is also ideal for career changers, or as a professional development opportunity for those already working as traditional, complementary, clinical or allied health professionals.
Already work in the health industry? The program is also perfect for existing health and fitness professionals who want to expand on their service offering.
The importance and value of a health coach is growing exponentially as the world faces rising healthcare costs and increasing accountability for quality outcomes. The more important reality of this is that most chronic conditions can be prevented or improved dramatically by eliminating some of the major risk factors, such as poor diet, smoking, alcoholism, lack of exercise and bad lifestyle habits.
There is a huge need for health and wellness coaches who can partner with clients seeking self-directed, lasting changes, aligned with their values, which promote health and wellness and, thereby, enhance well-being. Coaches who display unconditional positive regard for their clients and a belief in their capacity for change. Coaches who honor that each client is an expert on their life, while ensuring that all interactions are respectful and non-judgmental. Indeed, health coaches can be the difference the healthcare industry needs.
Heath coaches have a number of work opportunities, from working with allied health or complementary health professionals to providing individual/group coaching in person/online as part of your own coaching business.

“This program has
helped me improve
my thought process
and most importantly
listening and commu-
nication skills that are
crucial for not only for
self-improvement but for building rapport and trust which are the key skills of a coach. Jessica is a good mentor that helps to shape our belief and unearth potential that I am not even aware of myself. Despite being an online program, she is very engaging both on line and off line, sharing information, cases and other activities that is beyond the syllabus for our enrichment. I have gained and enjoyed this fruitful learning journey and sees a continuous learning path ahead beyond this program.”
